Time is a funny thing

Have you ever noticed that time sometimes seems to move at different speeds? I'm sure you all know what  I'm talking about. For instance when sitting in a really boring class time seems to slow down, like it knows you are in agony and it is mocking you. And other times when you have been really busy you will pause and realized that time has seemed to speed up and get away from you. I experienced time speeding up yesterday. My friend Chris invited me over to his house to watch the newest episode of The Office. That was at 3PM. We just kept watching TV after and talking and we were just having a lot of fun together. When we finally looked at the time again it was 9PM. I had spent 6 hours there and it really only felt like 2, maybe 3 at the most! And whenever another month rolls by I realize how long I have been dating Lyil. It is 6 months now! However it only feels like 3-4. I like the fact that when we are having a good time, we are capable of forgetting about the concept of time and just enjoy the moment. I hope that since I have so much to do these next few weeks that time will do it's little speeding up trick so that it doesn't seem like such a long time until I see my family and Lyil again.

My other thought for the day is, This last week or so I have started noticing the little things in life that make me really happy. Like how the other day I was walking home from school and saw people laughing and that made me smile. Or how people will randomly smile at me as I walk to class. Or how even though it was snowing the other day (which I was NOT happy about) as I was driving home from my friend Dana's house I noticed how pretty it looked as it fell underneath the street light. My new goal is to try and find one little thing every day that makes me happy or makes me smile and to share it. I mostly have been posting it as my facebook status. Give it a try! I have noticed that I have been happier this last week and I think it is because I am remembering the small little things that make me happy.

One Month Left

Well it is crunch time. I am in my last semester of college and the semester is down to it's last month. Finals week starts December 6th. This semester I only had to take 11 credits. Can I just say that going to school part time is lame!!!! The only time I would ever suggest going part time is if you are working full time. I, however, am only working part time. For the first 2 months of the semester I was bored out of my mind! My classes didn't have much homework and I only have one class that has tests at all this semester. The majority of my work this semester had to wait until this last month. I have big final projects in all of my classes due at the end of this month and papers and presentations spread through-out the rest of the month.

On top of all this, 2 of my 11 credits is a practicum. All I needed for this class was 30 hours of work. I was trying to get those hours through the Boy Scouts since that is what I want to go into  after I graduate. Well, I have had NO luck at all finding hours with them. People are so inconsiderate sometimes. They won't return my phone calls or emails. I have a meeting with my adviser next week, and she is going to give me a project. Hopefully it will be somewhat applicable to my future job.

On another note, in one week from today, I will have been dating this amazing man for 6 wonderful months!

Even though most of it has had to be long distance, we have made it work. Lyil is one great guy. He works hard to make me happy and the relationship work. Once I am done with school, hopefully the long distance part will be over. (p.s. my camera is broken so I stole this picture of him off of his facebook. This is him last Christmas, so it is a little bit old and he looks slightly different.)

I wish my life were a little more exciting so I could blog about something other than school. I really haven't done much since my last blog post. I did go rappelling on my birthday at the end of September. I went home a lot on the weekends to see Lyil, and I went to a comedian during SUU's homecoming week. It was Pete Lee. He was pretty funny, and clean. Hopefully something besides school will happen this month so that I will have the motivation to blog about it.
