My summer of 2009

All i can say is blessings sure do come in all shapes and sizes. This summer was a very busy one packed full of fun, emotion, and adventure. I worked at Maple Dell Scout Camp again, this year as a commissioner. I loved it so much! I really learned a lot this summer and was really pushed to become more outgoing and to stand up for myself more. I really feel like i learned a lot this summer and grew a lot. It was so fun to be out in the woods all summer around the plants and animals and hundreds and hundreds of scouts :) I am so grateful for the staff that i worked with this summer. They became really great friends who i owe a lot to.
As my last post shows I was engaged. I was going to get married on the last day of camp, but about 2 1/2 weeks before that day Rory and I decided that we needed to postpone our wedding. We aren't sure for how long. Maybe a year or two, maybe never. Right now we are just taking it a day at a time and we will see where life takes us. This really has turned out to be a very good decision for us. Even though we had almost all of the plans finalized and everything ready to go, I feel that we made a good choice. This is where the wonderful camp staff comes back into play in my life. As you can imagine I had a rough couple of weeks emotionally after Rory and I called off the wedding. I am so grateful I was at camp during this time. The staff was really there for me. when i wanted to talk someone was always there to listen and talk with me, but when i didn't want to think about it, they didn't push it or ask questions. Because i was at camp i was forced to continue working and to be happy, at least around the scouts. I am so grateful for this because without camp i might still be in a depression.
So thanks to all of my friends and family who have stood by me this summer and been there when i needed them. Thanks for helping me plan a wedding and for being there for me when it didn't happen. I really am so blessed! This summer has been a really fun one! Now it is back to school for me.
