back to school

Well, school has started again for me and it has felt like midterms all over again since i got back on tuesday. my teachers decided that it would be a good idea to have tests right after spring break since they all know just how much we study over spring break. I had a criminal justice test yesterday that i think i did really well on. I had to write a 3 page paper yesterday for my marriage and family relations class and i have a math test today. I also have a test next tuesday in my sight singing and ear trainging class. Luckily i only have 4 more weeks of classes once this week is over and then finals week! yay! It's going to be a busy month full of final projects and tests and papers. time to go study for my math test :)

more hiking

This last week has been my spring break. I went up to Orem for a few days and while. Saturday, Me and Melissa and Richard hiked up to the Y. it was snowing and foggy but so fun! on Wednesday i came back down to Cedar and i have been working some. Today Rory and I went hiking in Kolob Canyon. We did a 5 mile hike. It was so beautiful! parts of it felt like we were hiking in Zions and other parts felt like we were hiking in Northern Utah. it was a nice blend of scenery. It was perfect weather for hiking today too. I don't have many pictures from either hike but here are some. enjoy:)

I have been reading this book off and on for probably 4 years now and im only on page 120. From what i remember it is a good book. I really just don't like reading and most books don't keep my attention long enough for me to make it all the way through the book. I would give you a synopsis of what it's about but i haven't made it far enough yet and it's been a long time since I have ready any of it. Tuesday's hike.

I know i am slow at posting about this little adventure. Tuesday was Rory's birthday and all he wanted to do was to go back to Zions and go hiking again. So Me and Rory and Jake and Alycia went and did the emerald pools hike. its a nice 1 mile hike. we took our time and took a lot of pictures and just had a lot of fun together. When we were up at upper falls we decided that we wanted to go out to a sand bar in the middle of the pool and get our picture taken. so we all jumped out there. When it was time to go back we discovered that it was going to be quite a challenge. I almost fell in, and if i had i would have taken Rory in with me. It was a ton of fun. we didn't get home till 9 at night then we went to a birthday party for Rory and had cake and icecream and then we watched a movie. Alycia and me

my weekend hike

Me, Rory, Robert, Corey, Mikelle, Collette, Morgan, Tamoyo, Yugi, and Sun traveled down to Zions National Park on saturday to hike Angels Landing. It started out really warm but once we made it up the first set of switchbacks a storm started rolling in. We made it up to the turn around point when half of the group decided to turn back and go back the the truck. We went a little ways further and the rest of the group decided to turn back. Rory and I, however, decided that we didnt come all this way and pay all the money to quit so we continued up to the top. It was a lot of fun. The most dangerous parts of the hike still had snow and ice so they were even more dangerous. When we got to the top we watched the storm that was coming go around us and not even touch us. it was beautiful. We met some guys from Hungary at the top and stopped for a snack. then we slowly slid our way back down the dangerous parts. Then we ran almost the rest of the way down just because we could. It was a beautiful hike and a lot of fun. I was so proud of myself, i didn't need to use my inhaler once :)

I ENJOY... anything outdoors. I love warm sunny spring days. I love love love hiking and camping and wish i could do more of it. I love music of all kinds, both playing and listening. I love learning about the environment and nature.


THREE BAD HABITS...

1. I Procrastinate. a lot

2. I sleep too much. well maybe not too much just at the wrong time of the day. I really need to start going to bed earlier and start cutting out the nap time.

3. I don't eat well. I eat too often, and i eat food that isn't healthy for me.


FIVE THINGS YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT ME...

1. I hate carrying a purse. they get in the way. i even bought a guys wallet so that it could fit in my pocket and i wouldn't have to carry a purse.

2. I hate onions. i can taste them in anything unless they are cut up really small and cooked really well. I think they are nasty and won't anything with onions in it.

3. I always have a quote wall in my apartment with all the funny things that my friends and i say on it. this year it is made out of pink and green post it notes. last year it was just random pieces of paper stuck to my door and the year before that it was cute colored paper hung in our kitchen.

4. my favorite part of my year is when i am living in a tent for 3 months, teaching annyoing little scouts boring merit badges, eating mediocre food, getting almost no sleep, getting paid almost no money, and getting eaten alive by mosquitos and spiders. It's amazing! :)

5. i am addicted to hiking. when i don't get to go hiking for awhile i start to crave it. and when i do get to go on a hike i just want to go on more hikes afterward. winter is a long season for me...
